Born in Stourbridge 1955, painted from a very early age, studied at Stourbridge College of Art, spent early career as a studio technican and graphic artist in Hay on Wye. Returned to the Midlands to concentrate on painting, landscape and portrait, finally becoming professional in 2002. Exhibits in galleries throughout the country, elected a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 2016 and a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists in 2018. Became a member of the Guild of Waterways Artists in 2012. Painting two ways , in situ(plein air) in pochade mode,quick and full of spontaneity, many are finished paintings in themselves, and others may be used for a more considered approach in the studio. The North Yorkshire coast has been a particular inspiration for many years.
