Andrew's approach is influenced mainly by the most recent followers of the East Anglian School of Artists, and in common with this group, the initial work for his paintings is completed on location.
His professional career began after studying Fine Art at Hornsey College, London. Upon graduation he was awarded a 'David Murray' Scholarship (landscape painting) by the R.A. School. He maintains this connection to the Royal Academy through membership of their Alumni Reynolds Club.
Andrew has had work selected many times for exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, including the 'Britain in Watercolours' exhibition, the 'National Society' (elected a member in 1984), the 'Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours', The 'New English Art Club', the 'Royal Society of Portrait Painters' and the 'Royal Society of Marine Artists'. He has exhibited with the 'Royal Institute of Oil Painters' since 1985. In 1992 he was elected to full membership and has served on the council.
