Peter is a well-known wildlife artist and illustrator. He enjoys working in watercolour and oils. He produces dry-point etchings and he sculpts in clay when the mood takes him. His work is widely collected and he has had many exhibitions both in Britain and abroad.
He has illustrated many books, the most recent being the 'Secret Lives' series on the natural world, published by Helm. He is now working on a major full colour volume on the birds of Suffolk.
He has travelled widely and is frequently invited to participate in many international art and conservation projects. Nearer home, he has recently, with other artists assisted in documenting the huge new RSPB reserve at Wallasea in Essex.
He is happiest when he is out in the field with his sketchbook recording the power and beauty of birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
He lives in an ideal artist's environment, a garden with ponds and woods near Lavenham. He finds the countryside and coast of the region from the Brecklands to Walberswick, from Minsmere to Flatford a constant source of inspiration.
