Born in 1950 Lynda Hukins always had the desire to be an artist. It was only after closing her successful business that she could devote time to her love of sculpture. Although self taught she was invited to work with the acclaimed sculptor Naomi Blake FRBS at an early stage in her career which proved to be an invaluable experience both in technique and form.
She is passionate about wildlife and natural organic forms. Inspiration coming from these dynamics.
She lives in the Weald of Kent, with her bronze wildlife sculptures all being of life size. She sets out to capture the qualities of strength and movement that she looks for within her subjects, useing a strong definition of line to draw the eye to the sculpture.
Abstract and contemporary pieces are becoming an increasingly important part of her work.
Lynda lives and works from her studio in the beautiful Kentish countryside. Her work can be found in the U.K. and Internationally.
