With over 25 years worth of knowledge and experience of high-end photography, lighting, and complex retouching and drawing techniques, Ripley's commercial work has an eclectic and global client list which includes among it's ranks David & Victoria Beckham, Beyonce, Coldplay, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Lexus, Ferrari, and F1 drivers. Ripley has been a Hasselblad Judge for the Hasselblad International Masters Awards 2011/12 and 2015/16 and a selection of his work was presented in the Hasselblad publication 'Victor : Photography Book One' (just twelve photographers worldwide were selected for this first edition).
Ripley's personal passion for the genre of equine portraiture has already bought many special moments; from working with great thoroughbreds such as Estimate - for Her Majesty The Queen, The Gurkha - for Coolmore Stud, California Chrome - American Horse Of The Year 2014 & 2016, Galileo Gold, Dubday, Postponed etc. as well as creating genre defining works with lesser known thoroughbreds & non-thoroughbreds including the International Photography Awards recognised piece 'Racehorse on Newmarket Heath with a Rubbing Down House', and the groundbreaking 'Leopard Spotted Horse with Dalmatians in a Landscape' a composition which took over 500 hours to produce.
Other recent highlights include one of his artist proofs of Estimate being presented at Ascot Racecourse where it now forms part of a permanent installation, including video, about Ripley's work. (the original 1/1 having been delivered to Sandringham House in July 2016). Ripley was also invited as the inaugural speaker at the Munnings Birthday Lecture held at The Munnings Art Museum in 2017.
Ripley is currently creating works with some of the worlds top thoroughbreds, as well as a two year project creating 12 large-scale pictures with The Household Cavalry (to be exhibited in London in 2020-2021)
