Laura has worked in the horse racing industry from the age of 14. During this time she gained extensive experience working for top trainers in Australia, New Zealand, France and America. Culminating in a stint competing as a Jockey on the California and Arizona circuits.
While racing, Laura was never far from a paintbrush, often painting the horses she admired most. She was privileged to have a large piece of her work, American Triple Crown winner Arrogate, on display at the historic Santa Anita Park Racetrack.
Laura paints in oils and watercolour, using bold colors, brush strokes and pallette knifes to portray the energy, movement and raw emotions of a race onto canvas. She draws on her own experiences in the saddle and passion for the horse to achieve this.
Since returning from the States, Laura now rides, work and paints in Gloucestershire. Her original pieces and commisions have been featured in galleries in Cheltenham and have been purchased by clients in Australia, America and the Uk.
