The Hunter Gallery was established in 2001 in Long Melford and is now located in Bury St Edmunds. We exhibit well known local artists from Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex alongside some of the UK's most respected creators of art. We specialise in art for the home in a wide range of styles and media with something to suit all tastes and budgets.
Every year we do the Affordable Art Fairs in London Battersea and Hampstead and Fresh at Cheltenham.
We are proud to stock the work of many leading artists, including Caroline Bailey RSW, Harry Brioche, Colin Carruthers, Alexander Debenham, Mark Eldred, Peter Heard, Sally Martin SEA, Edward Noott RBSA, Alfredo Palmero, Huw Williams and many more.
The exhibition features new works by gallery favourites such as Harry Brioche with his beautiful and atmospheric sea and landscapes inspired by the British landscape and weather, his work is ever so popular, and we are lucky to have a good selection. Colin Carruthers has created a wonderful collection of the South of France and Paris, based on his last Summer's time in the region, he works from life sketches and always has a story behind every piece and a remarkable memory of the fragrance of herbs and flowers from every place. Margaret Glass PS has given as a lovely selection of Suffolk fabs such as Aldeburgh and Pin Mill among others, all in pastels. We also have new pieces by Ana Ortiz whose work is mainly inspired by the sea, Gerald Green with his interior paintings in oils and his characteristic use of light. Last but not least Naomi Clements-Wright who joined the Strada Easel Challenge in January and painted some lovely little oils from life in one seating with objects from her home, they remain very fresh.
As usual we have a good selection of glass and sculptures. We will be adding more artworks later in the Summer.
